What is a good way to get women?

I'm suffering badly from a prolonged drought with female-loving. It's like the Sahara Desert over my way. I'm going to go to a bar tonight with some friends, but I always feel awkward talking to girls at bars. I mean, I always feel that I make my intentions known too clearly; as a result, chicks never go home with me. Anyone got a suggestion on how to bait girls effectively at bars? I really want to make tonight count so I'd appreciate any advice.
