Does carbon monoxide treatments help with cancer?

My uncle just got diagnosed with cancer for the second time, and they mentioned something about treating him with carbon monoxide to help the cancer. I'm not sure what they really meant and i couldn't find anything about it on the internet. so i was wondering if that actually is a treatment for cancer.
